The newest advancement in water since the bottle

Fruits and vegetables aren’t the only way to eat your water anymore.

Edible water?  Edible water??? How can water be edible??

Confusing right? Water is a liquid, so how can we have a edible water ball?

Well, Rodrigo Garcia Gonzales, Guillaume Couche, and Pierre Paslier created a biodegrable water bottle, in London. They call is Ooho. It is designed to help you get the recommended daily water intake.

50 Billion plastic bottles are used daily in America alone. Just think about how many water bottles they sell in the Beehive! They have a whole case deciated to SmartWater alone! That is a lot of plastic, and a lot of space in the land fill. These new water blobs will not only keep you hydrated but they will help reduce our carbon footprint.

How can this be? Ooho, which looks like a water balloon, is made by taking a ball of ice and then encapsulating it in a few layers of calcium chloride, and then brown algae. It’s a process called spherification. It sounds a little disgusting, but it is safe to eat. However, if the idea of eating your water is still weird to you, don’t freak out and write the idea off-Paslier told the Guardian: “At the end of the day you don’t have to eat it. But the edible part shows how natural it is. People are really enthusiastic about the fact that you can create a material for packaging matter that is so harmless that you can eat it.” Even if you don’t eat the outside part of Ooho it still does not harm to the enviornment, because, it is 100% biodegradable.
