Here in America, as well as most other countries, many would consider Facebook the most widely used form of social media among the general public. Despite the social network’s worldwide popularity, Russia tends to favor local service VKontakte and old-school LiveJournal blogs instead. It has been made known to Facebook, as well as other foreign businesses, that Russia tends to favor homegrown forms of technology. This is evident through the government’s effort to make business difficult for foreign companies. Facebook, however, plans to defeat Russia’s stubborn and unwelcoming ways by simply wooing social media users in a strategic and psychological manner. In order to do so, the company decided to better themselves in adding Russian games to the site/app of Facebook. Through advertising these Facebook exclusive games, the company hopes to reach the attention of users. In assembling his army of app developers, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO and creator of Facebook, hopes to finally take first place in another country, yet again.
